Samantha is a health coach in training, wellness blogger, brand ambassador, public speaker, Bodylicious™ trainer & author of her newly released e-book. Most recently Samantha joined the largest female fitness platform, as a contributor and influencer. S's goal is to encourage each of you to find happiness daily through a healthy lifestyle for driven, independent, hustling girl bosses like yourselves.... you know, those who kick ass and look good doing it! It's what we here call The Fit Fatale, that girl who can have it all and then some, from health, family, career and social life. It's not an intimidation, it's a realization that you're capable. The Fit Fatale is flirty and witty. She is fitness obsessed. She would prefer to talk avocados than shit. She is always well dressed (even in yoga pants) and smiling. She cares for herself first and foremost which allows her to go above and beyond for others. This is how she finds happiness in a healthy lifestyle.

What drives you?

I’ve built The Fit Fatale brand with a focus on helping women find this happiness through a healthy lifestyle. That has now turned into helping those who struggle with body image issues, eating disorders, anxiety, physical and emotional stress. I wasn't expecting it to turn into this although I should have foreseen it since this is why I turned to fitness. Every time someone comes into my class or comments on my Instagram post and says “thank you, I needed that today!”… this is what drives me.

What’s next in training?

We have already seen a huge shift in the fitness scene from personal training and individual gym time, to classes. I think this will continue to grow in training trends. People view the gym as a safe place to connect with like-minded individuals. Its beautiful the relationships that develop in group fitness training through all of the sweat and laughter.

For me, strength building is a big focus moving forward. I have always been great at cardio, but a goal for the new year has been to strength, lengthen and tone. I spin almost daily, teach bodylicious a few times a week and add in my weekly routine of classes such as pilates, yoga, barre and circuit. For the new year, my goal is to make those classes a priority that both build you to be lean as well as strong.

What makes you happy?

Being surrounded by people with likeminded goals and values. I’m blessed that my family sees life the same way I do. They’ve always told me to follow my dreams and take risks. After doing so and taking the biggest risk in myself and my company, I see the reward. Although its far from easy, I can smile every day having people around me that not only support it, but get it. That’s really all you need.

How do you create balance in your life?

Listening to my intuition and learning to ignore the noise. My body and my mind want what is best for me. We’ve been through a lot together. When I don’t listen to it I completely lose the balance in my life. I became such a happier, stress free and balanced individual when I realized that it doesn’t matter what other people think or what they want you to do/be. Being you and following your needs in or out of the gym is balance. Ignore you’re phone as often as you can. Ignore negative Instagram comments. Find peace in yourself, with yourself.

What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?

Hats. I love hats! Especially when I am teaching bodylicious! I love to wear my hair down and since its a dance class my hat always holds it in place. I have so many scattered around my room… it’s becoming a problem!

What are your goals for the future?

The Fit Fatale officially relaunched in July. It’s crazy how much has changed since then. The brand has begun to focus a lot on helping youth with body image issues. We are currently planning a workshop that will take place this May to help youth learn to love their bodies. We are also launching podcast, my e-book and other downloadable content, as well as a content creation devision of the company that is strictly for health and wellness brands.

Who inspires you and why?

Annie Lawless has always been one of my biggest inspirations. She’s one bad ass chick if you don’t follow her already. She changed her life from the legal field to becoming a yoga teacher and creating Suja Juice to combat skin and health issues. I too went through the process of trying to fight for something that wasn’t right. Your body and your mind know it, however it’s often harder to act on than we think. When I was working corporate I would say everyday how I needed a change, I cried often and dreaded meetings with people that didn’t believe in what I was trying to do. It was frustrating. It was not the right fit. But leaving the comfort of society norms… oh and a steady pay check.. is a lot harder than “i don’t want to go any more”! Now I preach it to everyone and it’s people like Annie who inspire me since they took the same risk and live to tell the success story. After being on Forbes 30 under 30 list and building Suja Juice that is now worth over 300$ million, she recently went on to launched her second company, a natural beauty line called Lawless. When you focus and listen to yourself, it can all be within your reach. It’s only fear that gets in the way.
