Whether you're having a bad day or not, you should always have your mind set on becoming atleast 1% better than you were yesterday. Eventually that will add up to a lot.

What is your best training tip?

It's pretty simple; always compete against yourself. Whether you're having a bad day or not, you should always have your mind set on becoming atleast 1% better than you were yesterday. Eventually that will add up to a lot.

Having fun and being patient are also simple and but great training tips.

Why do you practice ice hockey?

I play hockey because I love the sport. The fight, the team and the culture that makes me grow as a person - each and every day. Hockey has shaped me into the person I am today and has been my school of life.

Is ice hockey for everyone?

Hockey is definitiely for everyone. Therefore it's great to see that hockey is growing in countries that haven't really had the resources to introduce the sport to younger kids before. To play hockey is to learn hpw to work hard and work together as a team. You learn structure and order and not to mention winning and loosing together. These are qualities that you carry throughout life - whether you play on a professional level or just for the fun of it.

What is top performance to you?

People tend to not always see the hard work and sacrifices that comes with being a pro-level athlete - a Top Performer. It's easy to just consider what is shown to the public which tends to be refined. Behind the scenes hides extremely hard work every day and all year around. Just because you are not at a game or at a practice, you cannot pause the job of being a top performer. You always have to be aware of how you take care of yourself in body and mind. That covers everything from diet and sleep to how you recover. The mental aspect is essential and has to be managed to perfection. Performing on top demands mental strength. The external pressure, that in my case comes from the team, the coaches, the crowd and the media, is one thing. On top of that comes the pressure I put on myself and that is the toughest one of them all.

So being a Top Performer means a lot to me. It means being dedicated and willing to sacrifice the parts of life that many take as a given. You have to fight everyday and I do it beacuse I love what I do for a living.
