Aleksandra Avli

Cofounder, Founder and Head Soulmate of your professional future Stockholm

I would describe myself as; passionate, honest and empathetic human sapien. I gain energy by seeing others around me grow. A life made entrepreneur and happy-pill change maker. I am really in it for the authentic and positive change we all strive to see and implement in our lives.

What drives you? What does ‘making a difference’ mean to you?

Being around authentic people and my never ending energy is what “drives” me to work full-heartedly and being true to myself and the needs I have to fully bloom as both the driver and the leader of my own yacht :)

I am not easily impressed, it takes real honesty and authenticity to reach me and get my interest. Therefor making a “real difference” is according to me making a positive and impactful change in other people's lives, it doesn't have to be big. It can be being around people that need your energy and positivity right now.

My mom is no recognized "superhero" walking on the streets, but she is making a difference in people's lives, just by giving them her time, interest and full devotion for their needs.

I am not striving for perfection or overwhelming projects. I am a fan of simplicity and presence.

Tell us a story from your past that has really shaped you. What did you learn?

A story that has shaped both my life and my passion for my work today is my first ever experience with the female professional woman-to-woman behaviour that I got to experience at my first job, which unfortunately was a toxic working environment for me.

I discovered that women were uninterested in helping one another to succeed and grow, because they were concerned about losing their own respect in the workplace and that number one seat at the “big table” where only one women could sit. This did not work for me. I was brought up on the values that you help the people around you, without expecting anything in return, because I believe that true power in life lies on our ability to uplift one another, not put down. .

This experience made me want to gather all of the amazing women around me and actually talk about who we are behind our titles and roles, personally and professionally. When women meet in positive spaces, real magic happens. When we share our struggles and are given the space talk freely about how we can help one another, we are helping ourselves and all the generations after us. The greatest school of all is the self-taught one, where you learn and grow from your mistakes. And for that reason “networks” are amazing, because it’s not effective to hate on society structures, but it is absolutely effective to proclaim our value, love ourselves and act on our strong abilities for the greater good of the community, both female and male.

A personal story that got me to start the journey of both HER Global Network and HON (Her Online Network) a professional app for women who wants to grow in a community.

If you could travel back in time… what piece of advice would to give to yourself ten years ago?

To keep listening to your intuition Aleks -- it will take you to amazing places with the most amazing people. Trust and follow the “gut” and let go of the fear!

What does your morning routine look like? How do you maintain balance in your life? What bio or life hack would you like to share with the world?

I love waking up and thinking about the things I am grateful in life for, my mom, friends and the community of people I have around me. Then I make fresh ginger/lemon tea and collect my thoughts for a while before I start my self-care beauty routine (I love spending A LOT OF time in the bathroom and centering myself and mimicking to some karaoke songs!!).

When are you most happy? Where is your happy place?

Anywhere with my mom and preferably by the Mediterranean ocean, nothing makes me feel free and connected to the planet as the Croatian coast. My hot spots are the Islands Korcula, Hvar, Orebic or Vis. No place like “the balkan home” to reconnect with your natural energies.

What’s your favorite type of training? Why is training important for you and your career?

My favourite training is going to Fightbox Training Club at Slussen and do whatever crazy WOD exercise they have planned for the day.

Training has been the success of building and taking care of my mental persona and the integrity of my energetic personality. I can honestly say I would NEVER EVER have survived the crazy startup journey with HON if it wasn’t for my dedicated training.

What’s next? What are your ambitions for the future?

My ambitions right now are all focused around the launch of my company, HON (Her Online Network). We are so excited to be sharing this new way for women to spend their professional time online and we are especially excited to help break down the toxic digital world of like and followers. Let’s start celebrating who we are individually, and who we can be to each other!

Besides launching this lovable app, I am currently also preparing for our 3rd annual HER Global Summit for all our 38 Global Founding Members that is taking place in the Stockholm Archipelago the 4th October. It will not be an ordinary Summit, I can promise you that..
