Elin Mohlander

Founder and CEO Stockholm

I was born and raised in Stockholm and am a child to two real hippies. After graduation, I went abroad for a while before coming home and starting work for the brand Filippa K and heading up their export. After 6 years, I left to work for J.Lindeberg to become their global Brand Director and was developing the brand. After experiencing the fashion industry firsthand, I wanted to test my own idea to create a brand on my own that reflected my own passion and creativity. That was the birth of Residus, a circular fashion brand focusing on dresses.

What drives you? What does ‘making a difference’ mean to you?

Just the thought of me being able to make an impact by changing the industry I grew up in gives me passion every day. Making a difference means doing something fo the greater good and making sure to secure our future for everyone.

Tell us a story from your past that has really shaped you. What did you learn?

As an athlete playing soccer growing up I really fell in love with the team spirit, the determination to succeed together as a team and how disciplined you need to be in order to accomplish your goals in life.

If you could travel back in time… what piece of advice would to give to yourself ten years ago?

Not to worry too much because life gets tougher and tougher the older you get. The only thing you need to do is to create tools for yourself to live through it, own it and be happy in it.

What does your morning routine look like? How do you maintain balance in your life? What bio or life hack would you like to share with the world?

It starts at 7 am when my daughter wakes up. Then coffee and breakfast with my family before I start reading all my e-mails. Balance is sometimes hard to maintain, I always need to work on it. I think the easiest way is to be present now. Not think too much of the future or get stuck in the past. That is something I constantly need to remind myself off.

When are you most happy? Where is your happy place?

200% with my family! My daughter Stevie who was born in 2018 and my husband Robin. There is nothing that makes me more happy than to be with them.

What’s your favorite type of training? Why is training important for you and your career?

I try to find balance between yoga and more explosive training as Shaolin. After quitting soccer at age 25 because of too many injuries it was hard to start over and find another sport to be really fond of. Training gives me focus and ideas, it boosts my soul to become more creative.

What’s next? What are your ambitions for the future?

To spend more time in my happy places. Be around people who makes me happy and to achieve great innovative ideas and be a part of shaping the future for the next generation.
