What does Forever Better mean to you?
Forever Better means that I feel confident in myself with my workout clothes and my workout gear while still being comfortable. Wearing good looking workout clothes makes me feel confident and it makes me push harder in each exercise that I do.
How does your training routine look like?
My training routine is very different from day-to-day, but I always begin every workout with a warm up. I follow a training program consisting of strength training, mobility training and technique training and so on.
What are your goals for the future?
My biggest goal for the future is to compete in international championships and to meet other inspiring high jumpers and athletes from all over the world. If I’m lucky I can receive a track and field scholarship and study abroad. I want to travel a lot in the future and explore places that I have never been to before while making new friends and enjoying life. When I get older I would also like to move to a country that is warmer than Sweden because I don’t really like cold weather.
What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?
I cannot pick one thing! The first thing I cannot live without are my spikes, the shoes that I wear during high jump practice and competitions. Another thing I cannot live without are massage rollers and foam rollers, they are great for getting my muscles ready and in action before a workout and they help to speed up the healing and recovery process after a workout.
Why is Rest and Recovery important to your performance?
My body needs rest after a tough workout so that my muscles can repair and strengthen themselves till my next workout. If I were to train hard without rest and recovery it would break me down and make me weaker instead of stronger. Allowing my body to rest and recover makes my muscles stronger which makes me jump higher. I also have some problems with shin splints and rest is very important for my shins to be able to recover after competitions and training. Not also does rest benefit me physically but also mentally. Taking time away from practice lets me process details in my head about my jumps that I must improve which then makes it easier to physically do while jumping during next practice.
