Lovisa Bivstedt

Track and field Sweden

My name is Lovisa Bivstedt and I am a 17 year old girl from Sweden. I love athletics and I am a runner myself. I run 400m, 800m and 1500m, but 800m is my favorite distance. I am a part of the youth national team in Sweden and last year I made it to the final in 1500m on the youth Olympics. I am a very ambitious girl who always strives to be positive.

What does Forever Better mean to you?

Forever Better to me is to make great and smart decisions and to do the right priorities to become better than the rest. I work with a strategy where I am asking myself every night if I did my best today to become a champion. If I feel tired one day or if I am sick – the best decision is to rest. When I am going to sleep that night I can feel proud of myself because I took the right decision. Forever Better is about to be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be – everyday.

How does your training routine look like?

I am going to a school where I have chosen running as a focus, which means that I am getting time to work out during the school hours. My training routine depends on what time of the year it is – if it is during the season when I compete, I exercise less than when I do not compete. But I always practice at least 5 times a week, where strength, intervals and distance are included. During the build-up period I do between 5-10 workouts.

What are your goals for the future?

I have both short and long term goals. One of my short term goals is to qualify to the European youth Championships held in Hungary this summer. I also want to run personal bests in all of my distances. My long term goals is to participate  and run a final in the Olympics.

What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?

My foam roller and my C-vitamin drink that I am drinking every morning are something I could not live without!

Why is Rest and Recovery important to your performance?

Rest and Recovery is important to me because without it I would not get the maximal performance from my workouts. If I am not getting the maximal performance from practice it is impossible for me to perform my best on my competitions. I need rest and recovery to achieve my goals.
