Ana Ferrer Prohías

Handball Ibiza

I’m Ana, a personal trainer and fitness instructor at BFit Sports Club in Ibiza, as well as a professional handball player. Sport has always been a way of life for me, and along with my family, always taught me a great deal in how to deal with life’s challenges. I see myself as a very cheerful, optimistic, committed and a self-demanding person, as I always want to improve myself.

What drives you?

We have just one life to live, therefore my most important goal is to enjoy every single thing I do. In that sense I am very fortunate, as I find overcoming challenges and learning from them extremely rewarding and that is something which I constantly get to do by helping every person I train with to create and then achieve their goals.

What's next in training?

I think the immediate future of training is that focused on postural re-education, injury prevention, and physical activities focused on the different particular needs for training in a specific sport or for groups of people, such as the elderly or pregnant women.

What makes you happy?

For me it would be both seeing the people around me happy and taking part in all types of sports, especially activities that I have never tried before!

How do you create balance in your life?

I create balance by getting up every morning, looking after my body by eating healthily, training nearly every day, enjoying my work, having fun with my friends and loving my family. Undoubtedly, this island also influences my well-being as it really transmits magic vibes and very special energy.

What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?

If there is a material that I use every day it would be resistance bands, but as I am passionate about functional training I like to train with different materials every day. I love functional training cages and bodyweight workouts.

What are your goals for the future?

I would like to specialise in three very particular population groups: pregnant women, people with some type of injury and people with special needs.

Who inspires you and why?

My family, first of all, without any doubt: I have been taught to appreciate the value of love, time, small details and great people.

Secondly, everyone around me as I constantly strive to improve myself by learning from all people. I am motivated by the strength of will and sheer determination by those trying to improve their lives. I continually envolve my training style by emulating the best methods that I see and read about, whilst changing those that I feel are not as effective.
