Anna Kähler

PT Gothenburg

My name is Anna Kähler. 22 years old, born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden. I describe myself as an “holistic athlete”. Which means I am an active human, with a driven mindset. Always aiming to push myself forward when training or in other life situations, but to also enjoy the moment and where I am today. My passion for health and development comes from my 15 year long career as a figure skater. A sport I keep very close to my heart. Being a figure skater has shaped me in many ways and how I train today. I today prefer running, yoga and functional strength training, but always with my own touch of grace. A mix of them all is what I prefer during a normal week, always trying to listen to my body. Having a healthy and active lifestyle gives me energy and self-confidence for my full-time studies at Gothenburg school of business, economics and law, where I am at the moment at my third year of a bachelor in Business administration, with a major in marketing. When not training or in the middle of studies, I prefer to spend time with family and friends, be creative, travel or go skiing, which is another passion of mine. Both skiing and teaching others.

What drives you?

What drives me forward is development. Knowing that you can always develop and the feeling development and reaching new goals gives, self-fulfilment and happiness. I have a strong belief in that you can always develop and reach your dreams if you have the passion, are eager, and set up goals. It can be small goals, but also bigger ones. Stay true to that belief; be structured, be disciplined and you can reach it. No shortcuts. This mindset is what drives me forward in school, at work, when training or in other life situations.

What is next in training?

“Daily movement for tomorrow´s goals”, a saying I created that summarise how I see training, but also what I think is next in training. There are so many ways of movement. Running, strength, yoga, pilates, boxing etc. We might stick to what is “trendy” or what gives the best body results.

But what I think is most sustainable and will be next in training is to everyday do some kind of movement, to feel good & to be healthy, but also to find the right mindset for future challenges, goals and developments. For school, for work or just for a normal day in life. To have today's energy boost as motivation, but also tomorrow's goals in mind. This means we need to focus on what is best for ourselves, what training makes you happy at the moment, and what training makes you build a great foundation for goals you have set up in life?

What makes you happy?

My family, friends, meeting inspiring and driven people, working out, tasty food, travelling and winter. I am the happiest when skiing down the mountain, feeling the fresh air, freedom and power of controlling my body. There is no such thing as skiing.

How do you create balance in life?

Plan, prioritize and to set up part goals. To plan what has to get done in school, work etc, then to prioritize what I need to keep the energy level up during the week; Daily movement, social activities, family time etc and last to set up goals in order to keep the drive up and to always look forward, when training, in school or other activities. These 3 steps makes me find a life in balance.  A life where I get things done, develop but also feel good, happy and get time to be spontaneous and live in the moment.

What is one piece of kit you could not live without?

My skis. Skiing makes me feel free and happy. At the same time skiing helps me be motivated throughout the whole year. It makes me want to work hard at the gym, to build a strong and healthy body. At the same time it keeps me be motivated in school or work, because I know I have skiing to look forward to, my reward after hard work during winter.

What are your goals for the future?

My goal for the future is to combine my strong passion for health and training with my knowledge in international marketing and branding. With this foundation, I wish to reach out globally and influence people to finding a healthy and happy lifestyle.

My goal for the coming year is to put a lot of effort in school, finish my bachelor in business administration and to continue be my creative; take photos, write and collect ideas. Also planning on a half marathon within a year.

Who inspires you?

My family inspires me. They always believe in me, challenges me to develop and support me in following my dreams. But my grandmother has especially inspired me to be brave and to follow my dreams. She has gone through tough things in life, yet she is the strongest person I have ever met. She is not afraid, shameless and she always says “go out and embrace the moment with confidence”. She is a true inspiration.
