What drives you?
My biggest motivation is Passion, fulfilling my dreams, motivating my dance students and friends to grow and nurture each others talent. And music, I cant live without music. Waking up every day and feel acceptance that my body feels different each day and that I need to become my own best friend.
What’s next in training?
As I get older I want to focus on longevity in my dance career and make smart choices on how to make my body still expand and get stronger. To do training that is injury prevention. To be one step ahead of what my body needs. Circular movements, correct form and to broaden my horizon on different dance techniques.
What makes you happy?
Dance is my biggest source of happiness. To move my body in endless possibilities to incredible music. Getting to express my deepest emotions through a highly physical movement language. To make life stop when dancing and creating memories that will last forever. Living by the quote _ No RISK _ NO STORY
How do you create balance in your life?
For me balance comes from accepting and saying that I am not perfect.I am who I am and I try my best every day. To tell myself I am a human being with desires and dreams and challenges. Balance is about getting to know yourself inside and out and to feel when is a good time to push and when does the body need rest to recover. To take deep breaths and look up at the sky. Living in a crazy busy city like NYC I constantly need to find small moments of peace. That can be to take 5 min to myself after a dance or work out class and just lay down on the floor, to close my eyes on the subway and close off the world around me, to see a kid run in the park and smile, to look up at the sky and see a bird and feel that time stands still and that the world is a beautiful place. Ive been living a vegan lifestyle for 4 years and continue to feel in touch with the nature.
What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?
Foot roller, foam roller, my dance bag and trigger point massage ball.
What are your goals for the future?
My goal is to keep inspiring people through my art and body and to make them realize that the world is endless and this is the time to make your dream happen. I want to always find more power in my dancing and every day get surprised by myself how far I can stretch my own limits.
Who inspires you and why?
My dance mentor in Norway, People who fight in their lives and dont take things for granted, people who are not afraid to create change in the world, people who face fears against all odds.
