What drives you?
The fact that we have a choice to make every single day – to either enjoy our lives or allow a negative perspective to get in the way of that. We all have free will, and despite the conditions that may be in our reality, we STILL have the power to exercise our free will and keep on moving forward into a better life.
What's next in training?
Adding the mindfulness aspect into your workouts. That pushes you even further in performance, strengthens your focus and allows you to receive the most benefit from exercise on a LIFE level, not just a physical body level.
What makes you happy?
Creating. I love creating workouts, meditations, full programs, writing inspiration and designing plans for people to reach their desired goals. Reaching people on a deeper level than people are used to being reached is what truly inspires me.
How do you create balance in your life?
It’s definitely been something I’ve had to learn the hard way, but once I finally honored the balance I know is proper, my work improved, my energy increased and my power to help others became limitless. I spend every Sunday refueling – whether that means spending time in nature doing absolutely nothing but being in the moment, relaxing with friends or family, or taking a bath and spending hours writing in my journal. Having time set aside that has no expectations is vital to recharging! The great outdoors always refills me. Even though I love my work, I have learned I need to be strict in getting myself to also do things for pure enjoyment rather than always feeling like I must be working. Plus, I started my new tradition in 2017 to travel to at least one new place I want to go to each year. Purely for myself! In 2017, I went to Australia for 3 weeks and Fiji for a few days on the way back – all on my own, which was empowering!
What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?
A foam roller – because I can handle always increasing the challenge with just bodyweight, but the foam roller really allows me to keep up with recovery – which allows me to always keep going. However, I do seriously love myself a medicine ball, so many fun movements!
What are your goals for the future?
I am going to host the active, travel retreats more often (right now at once a year), host events around the world teaching the unstoppable combination of mindfulness and fitness, to travel more and most of all to keep using my full potential to creatively extend my outreach in the world to improve the lives of and inspire as many people as possible.
Who inspires you and why?
This probably sounds quite random, but Amelia Earhart has always stood out to me since I was a little girl. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. That takes some serious courage and a heart that craves pursuing passion – which is what I am all about.
