BOUTIQUE STUDIO GUIDE - CORE BALANCE

Casall has been a trusted partner since Core Balance opened thier doors and we wanted to share this secret with you!

CORE BALANCE

Monica Øien is the founder and owner of Core Balance. We asked her to give us the background to why she started the studio? "I wanted to create a workout philosophy which is more about joy, community, curiosity, invention, total body strength and no pain or injuries. I have osteoporosis and hate doing regular fitness and weight training, for me its way to boring repeating the same things over and over again. So in order to strengthen my body I needed to start playing around and testing my knowlegde. My background as a Tv Host on the move and Pilates instructor was a great combination to create workouts you can do wherever you are, whenever you want, and which is fun and gives extreme lean and visual results. I started playing around with different excercices, tools, sequences, rhythm, music and the method became a so much harder workout than I had ever done before."

Would you say that this type of training is for everyone? "Yes, it is, for man, woman, athletes, teenagers, seniors… we all get the results we are dreaming of, the strength you need in your daily life and the feeling of joy."

THE TEAM

Both Monica Øien (founder and owner of Core Balance) & Mia Eckhoff are Casall ambassadors and we met up with them for a training session and catch up

WHAT’S YOUR STORY?

Monica is a certified pilates, Hatha yoga and Yin Yoga instructor. She is also trained in TRX and mega reformer. On top of that Monica has worked with celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson's method for several years and from that developed her own concept "Core Sculpt".

Mia Eckhoff works as an instructor at Core Balance. She's been there since the start in October 2017. "I just fell in love with Monicas and Core Balance’s concept. Low impact, high intensity workouts. My body and mind changed and I have never felt better".

TELL US ABOUT YOUR TRAINING CONCEPT?

"Our concept is based on Low impact and high intensity workouts with Full Body Muscular Endurance Training. We work all muscle groups incorporating the full body and core at the same time. You get more work done in a shorter time then in other fitness classes."

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE TYPE OF TRAINING?

Monica - "Whatever engages the core and having the full body work no matter what muscle is the target. My fav of all is my own concept Core Sculpt where we do lots of repetitions until we reach muscleexhaution and the sculpting starts, connecting our brain to the body and getting the endorphins fly high with the cool house music playlists. This together with megaformer classes and  the inward journey a yin class has to offer makes your body, heart and soul balanced."

Mia - "My absolute favorite is Monica’s and Core Balance’s own consept, Core Sculpt. Cardio and sculpting in perfect balance. This together with megaformer and yoga with Ifrared lamps is so so good for your body, mind and soul."

WHAT'S TRENDING IN TRAINING RIGHT NOW?

Monica - "My luck, boutique fitness and the focus on a stable pelvic floor and core, having the intelligence to understand how to engage different muscles so they work efficiently, its not about doing, its about feeling what you are doing."

Mia - "Low impact / high intesity is for sure trending in training right now. And home workouts."
