What drives you?
My passion in sports and exercises especially in gymnastics drives me to keep going and fight for my dreams. I failed many times in competition. I got many serious injuries. I fight with different situation that challenge my pursuit in sports. But I never give up no matter what challenge I have faced because I love it and have a strong passion in it.
What's next in training?
I always pursue the challenge, perfection and creation in my training. There is so much fun to keep challenging myself with all the difficulties. But once I finished new moments, I will polish them to perfect and that is very important in gymnastics. Besides, I will keep brainstorming for any new moments. I love to think and create. That is how I created two new elements in gymnastics and it is now named after me.
What makes you happy?
I am so happy every time when I completed new skills or created new skills after thousands of trials and practices. But what makes me feel happiest is that I can inspire or motivate some people to chase their dreams.
How do you create balance in your life?
I am quite busy almost every day because I am athlete, coach, trainer and student at the same time. The way I create balance in my busy life is my attitude towards all of my “works”. I do not see them as my work but just the things I love to do. So basically, I do what I love in my life. But it is very important to have a little bit time for rest and do nothing because it is the time for me to think and refresh.
What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?
“Foam roller and massage ball” is the thing that I could not live without for my training and workout. I consider “Balance” is the most important thing in training as well as in life. Therefore, rest and recovery are as important as working hard in practice. Stretching and massage are so important every time before, during and after my training session. A foam roller or lacrosse ball is the best tool for me to stretch and massage well in my training.
What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future is to keep myself healthy physically and mentally so that I can keep doing things I love like gymnastics or exploring new things. On the other hand, I want to inspire and motivate people through my stories and experiences.
Who inspires you and why?
Bruce Lee is the one who inspires me a lot. He is not only a sportsman but also a philosopher and artist. His spirit in training and life inspired me and helped me a lot. “Defeat is a state of mind; no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality” by Bruce Lee always remind me the spirit of never give up in my sports career. Moreover, “Empty your mind, Be water” by Bruce Lee also inspired me in my mind set during competition and daily life.
