What drives you?
There is a lot of things that drives me, but one of those things are contributing to a better society with more activity. I always try to influence people around me to move around and create a better healthy living. In my mind that’s a mayor key to create a better living for us all. I’m also driven by the fact of being a better person each day, you can always work with yourself and develop new skills. I find the fact that I can be better for my surroundings is very trilling and motivating!
What’s next in training?
Next in training is to get everybody to realize that It’s fun to get moving and that it is crucial for their health. We see a new generation of people who are sitting down at breakfast, in the car to work, at work, the car home from work straight to the couch. Coaches of tomorrow have a huge responsibility making training fun and effective so that people choose a walk or running over sitting down. If we know that movement is important that will automatically lead to people contributing to a more sustainable world by maybe once a week choosing a walk over taking the car.
What makes you happy?
I get happy for lots of stuff. But very often it’s simplicity that has a big impact on whether or not I’m happy or not. For example, just being out on a run makes me feel happy and optimistic. Family and friends always make me happy and full of energy, they motivate me. Coaching is obviously one of the things that make me happy, seeing development and happiness in training, that makes me feel happy.
How do you create balance in your life?
To create balance, I have some basic needs I live by. First, I get up early in the morning and do a kick-ass breakfast to start the day of. Then I head to the gym and do a 30-minute workout and 10 minutes relaxing, just focusing on my breath which is really stress-relieving. Then I feel balanced and ready for studying and coaching. So, it’s rather simple. Doesn’t need to fancier than that.
What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?
The foam-roller is a tool I can’t live without. It really helps me to prepare for trainings and get that fresh feeling in my body. You can really use it for many purposes during training.
What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future are to provide my knowledge the best way possible for my athletes. I feel a huge responsibility against my athletes by getting them the right instructions for their best development.
Another goal for the future is to influence people for a healthy living and showing other persons what a great life you can have if you play your cards right. I want to help the world making the next generation healthier and more active. I think that will lead to a more sustainable, stress relieving, happier world.
Who inspires you and why?
I have different inspirations and individuals that motivates me. One of them are my mother who got sick and managed to get back to her normal life and take care of 4 children, sometimes alone. It wasn’t always easy but she always made it better for us and that really inspires me because she showed me that a human being can be extremely strong.
The other one Is my father. A man that always wants to learn new thing, always a book in his hand. He inspires me to be hungry for knowledge and wanting to learn more. Knowledge is power.
