What drives you?
I feel driven to become healthier and stronger, to push myself to be better than I was yesterday. I don’t really compete with anyone, and I work out because I love my body, not because I hate it.
What's next in training?
In barre, bounce classes are the latest thing, and I’m hoping to explore more of that. In yoga, I’m really interested in learning about the therapeutic benefit of certain postures. I also practiced Chinese martial arts for numerous years and really miss it. I’m hoping to squeeze some classes into my training schedule again.
What makes you happy?
Self-expression. I’m happiest when I can express myself freely without hesitation, be that through speech, writing, body language or exercise.
How do you create balance in your life?
I make sure I address wellness on many different levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. In addition to my workouts I also have a regular meditation practice.
What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?
Probably a yoga mat.
What are your goals for the future?
I want to keep pushing my boundaries and explore other types of sport. At the moment I’m mainly practicing barre and yoga, but I feel a great desire to explore more Hip Hop and street dance this year.
Who inspires you and why?
Jade Chynoweth, she’s a 19-year-old Hip Hop dancer I’ve been following on social media for the last few years. Her path has been nothing short of amazing. She’s totally dedicated to her passion and her drive is inspiring and addictive.
