What drives you?
As a young girl I felt very lost, and I spent a long time feeling like I did not belong. I went off traveling the world and along the way got to know many beautiful people and places. However it was not until I found yoga, I literally felt at HOME. Yoga taught me that home was maybe not a place but a feeling and I realized that true joy comes from within. I teach yoga with a wish to inspire others who may be wandering and support them on their journey of self discovery.
What's next in training?
I am hoping to be able to take part in a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training sometime next year.
What makes you happy?
The simplest things! I absolutely love mornings. I like to wake up at sunrise and have a cup of coffee as I watch a new day arrive. I am the happiest when I get to live in the jungle, where I can walk barefoot everywhere and the ocean is close by. I love feeling alive and connected to myself and I find the easiest way to do so is to shut my phone off, get out of town and into nature.
How do you create balance in your life?
The realisation that I do not have to choose one thing before another has helped me a great deal to create balance in my life. Yoga has taught me to listen not so much to my mind but more to my body and to give it what it is asking for. Some days that means to eat a bag of chips or to stay up late to drink wine with my girlfriends. Other days that means to wake up early, eat salads and drink green juices all day. The thing is if you eat a whole bag of chips one day.. your body will probably be screaming for something healthier the next day! Hence, BALANCE!
What’s one piece of kit you could not live without?
My cork mat!! It is literally the most amazing thing I have ever put my feet on.
What are your goals for the future?
I am hoping to be able to host my first retreat sometime next year. I would love to work with yoga and healing full-time, and I dream of one day owning my own yoga studio. Hopefully just by the ocean! I want to create a beautiful place where people can and feel that sense of community and belonging.
Who inspires you and why?
For me there is nothing more inspiring than a person who dares to follow what is true in their hearts. That can be a lot of different things and a lot of different people. Meaning, there are so many inspiring people around us and so much to learn.
